EAGAN, Minn. — The Vikings on Wednesday confirmed they have interviewed Mike Pettine for their open defensive coordinator position.

Pettine is currently the team’s Assistant Head Coach, having just completed his first season with Minnesota.

Pettine earned two letters as a safety (1986-87) at the University of Virginia and graduated with an economics degree.

Pettine was born Sept. 25, 1966, in Doylestown, Pennsylvania. He attended Central Bucks West High School.
